I created Mini Yoga Club for kids like me. I was that deeply feeling kid who had anger and anxiety attacks, sensitive to sounds, scratchy tags, and seams in socks. It didn’t take much to send me into a meltdown. But no one knew how to help me regulate my feelings and make sense of it all. I didn’t learn how to cope until I was 21— when I discovered yoga, meditation, and breathwork. It changed my life.
From that point on I knew: No child should have to wait that long to learn how to navigate their big feelings. This transformation motivated me to study psychology and neuroscience, and then lead me to a career teaching yoga and mindfulness to young children for over a decade now.
I knew that the most critical brain development happens between ages 1-6 , making it the perfect time to introduce emotion regulation skills like yoga, and meditation.
But when I started working in preschools, I realized that the yoga world wasn’t built for toddlers. No existing yoga books, toys, and games could hold a toddlers’ short attention span. So, I created what would eventually turn into the Yoga Play Kit. Using music, rhythm, and mindful sensory play—and it worked. Not just for the thousands of toddlers I taught over last 11 years, but for my own children, too.
Fast forward to a month postpartum with my second child, and I knew this was my chance to slow down and bring this life-changing tool to more families. I spent every moment in between naps and feedings refining the prototype, testing, and perfecting the Yoga Play Kit.
I wanted to take the same magic I experienced in my own life and classrooms to create a yoga game that is not only effective but as effortless for parents as it is engaging and fun for kids. Yoga Play Kit is a tool I wish I had as a child, and one I love using now as a mom.
It’s the magic of our Yoga Play Kit that you and your children love so much, and gets me excited to keep growing this brand.
If you’ve got a sensitive, strong-willed, or big-feelings kid— I made this for you.
Welcome to Mini Yoga Club. I’m so glad you’re here.
